A glossy monthly with a mission
In today’s volatile scenario, defence and security are of utmost importance and
tend to impact human life more critically than ever. Consequently, the
involvement of government and corporate entities in external and internal
security is constantly under the scanner. It is, therefore, essential to develop
an intellectually stimulating platform for the dissemination of critical
information.
As DSA is a publication with a cause, we not only bring you an
in-depth insight into latest strategic intelligence and defence activities, but
also highlight the fast-growing security, safety and surveillance challenges.
This is, indeed, a unique opportunity to serve the nation and create mass
awareness across all socio-economic strata. We are pleased to inform you that
Mr. Manvendra Singh, a noted journalist-columnist and a former Member of the
Indian Parliament, leads Team DSA as the Editor-in-Chief.
A great business tool
Latest technological developments and timely innovations culminating into
best-possible products & services in the field of Defence and Security remain
the top priority for manufacturers across the globe. Therefore, revolutionary
changes in combat technologies, focus on fighting global terror and uptake of
most sophisticated security/surveillance practices have thrown open huge
business opportunities for national and international enterprises.
India’s defence budget has witnessed a 34% hike in 2009-2010 (a total
of $28 billion), the highest ever allocation, while police modernisation
gets $88.5 million budgetary boost. In fact, the upward growth in defence
spending has continued over the years. The Indian market has, therefore, grown
tremendously as the defence allocation in 2007-2008 reached $20.11
billion and further went up to $26.5 billion in 2008-09.
Rising security concerns are also boosting the demand for integrated security
solutions for physical infrastructure and enterprise data. According to Frost
& Sullivan, globally, the security industry is estimated at $140 billion
and it is growing at around 10%-12% CAGR (compound annual growth rate).
The Indian safety and security market is estimated at $2 billion in
2008-09 and it is growing at a robust rate of 25%-30% per year.
Frost & Sullivan has pegged security spending in the Indian market at an
estimated $9.7 billion by 2016 while airports security is projected to a
total over $3.2 billion. According to Frost & Sullivan, the IT security
market in India was estimated to be $129.32 million and growing at
19.21% in the year ended 2008. It will further grow at a CAGR of 10.56%
in India.
It is, therefore, the right time to go all out for persuasive promotion and
achieve business goals in relevant industry segments such as IT,
telecommunications, aerospace, combat training tools, police modernisation etc.
