US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard arrived on a three-day visit to India on 16th March, 2025 as part of her multi-nation trip to the Indo-pacific regions. This marks the first high-ranking official visit from the second Donald Trump administration.
Tulsi Gabbard held bilateral talks with the National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval on March 16. The two leaders discussed intelligence-sharing and ways to enhance cooperation within the India-US global strategic partnership. The meeting focused on security in the Indo-Pacific region, cooperation to counter terror funding and money laundering and issues relating to extradition and immigration.
Gabbard joined intelligence and security officials from around 20 countries at a conclave chaired by India’s NSA Ajit Doval. The National Security Council Secretariat has hosted this conclave on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue since 2022. The closed-door discussions at the conclave focused on counter-terrorism strategies, transnational crime and global security challenges, including the Russia-Ukraine war and conflicts in the Middle East.
